Hi Mark – do I need to request a letter of recommendation from someone in MA or can it be from any state?

  • Mark Shean says:

Any state or any country for that matter, they do not need to have a gun license for you to use them.

  • Kevin says:

Great, thanks! If I completed my safety course in December 2015, is that still valid?

  • Mark Shean says:

Yes it is still valid, but if your police dept. ‘pretends’ that it is not, just ask the instructor to give you a newly dated certificate. If you know people that need the class show them my website.

  • Beth says:

How long should someone writing a letter of recommendation have known you for ?

  • Mark Shean says:

There is no stipulation on that.

  • Jay says:

Does anyone know if i can write my wife a recommendation letter in the state of massachusetts ? And can her brother that also carries write one too ?

  • Mark Shean says:

Hi Jay, In Gun Sense #33 It clearly states that these letters can not be written by people Related to you. Take a closer look at #33.
